Maillardville, a community with a francophone heart since 1909!

Founded in 1983, Société francophone de Maillardville is an organization regrouping eleven francophone associations. It operates in a community and cultural centre. Its role is to offer services and activities in French to the francophones and francophiles in the Maillardville/Coquitlam regions, which make up about 13,000 francophones.

Mission

To promote, represent, and defend the rights and interests of the francophones in Maillardville and surrounding areas and to maintain the French-Canadian language and culture.

Objectives

  1. To promote, support, protect, and facilitate the music, the arts and traditions in the hearts of Maillardville's francophone community and for its surroundings with a bias for cultural and artistic events.
  2. To round up and encourage the associations and individuals who assure the development of the community.
  3. To establish and maintain a physical presence in the community and to offer administrative support and services to its members.
  4. To develop community activities which will promote the arts and cultural aspects of Maillardville and its surroundings.
  5. To enhance the autonomy of each of its members.
  6. To coordinate, develop and promote a significant base for volunteers.
  7. To support the tourism development of Maillardville.
